SEVEN BANK

FAQ

I tried to apply to open a Seven Bank account but found that my name or address contains a kanji character in the old form that cannot be entered in the application data entry field. Can I apply for an account when a kanji character in the old form is contained in the account holder’s name or address to be registered?

Q

I tried to apply to open a Seven Bank account but found that my name or address contains a kanji character in the old form that cannot be entered in the application data entry field. Can I apply for an account when a kanji character in the old form is contained in the account holder’s name or address to be registered?

A

The Chinese characters that can be registered in Seven Bank are limited to those specified in JIS standard No. 1 and JIS standard No. 2. If a particular Chinese character cannot be registered, then an alternative character will be used.

If any of the characters contained in your name or other personal information cannot be entered as indicated on your identity verification document, you can replace that character with a simplified one that has the same meaning, then you can apply for an account.

For example, “海” can be replaced with “海,” and “﨑” can be replaced with “崎.”

In addition, Roman numerals, “I, II, III,” which are often used in building names, need to be converted into Arabic numerals, “1, 2, 3.”

Please note that in some cases, we may choose a different kanji character from the one you entered to register your personal information.
